  1. Just look at all the little bottles!

  2. Here’s another picture from yesterday.

Perfumers’ nine to five can be meeting after meeting with their clients, evaluators, people from the sales, and press. Often, the most important part of the creation takes place after 5 PM when they can have a quiet moment.

  3. I think I would put my desk facing the window so I could enjoy that wonderful view a little more. Talk about inspiration.

I think we should send every perfumer a lifetime supply of coffee beans, I would hate to get those scents all muddled up!

  5. StickyKeys,
hmmm, never thought about it… I once had a studio with a view of East River and lower Manhattan skyline. It was simply a gorgeous view, but I never worked facing the window. Too distracting I think.
    Aromascope,
I’m thinking of writing about IFF’s Perfumery School or ISIPCA later. And some stories about how perfumers who had had no connection to the industry got in there.

  6. What a clean, organized desk. What’s the latest a perfumer might stay at work?
    More stories would be great.
I hope everyone backs up their computer data :P
