Clement’s Fragrance Forecast for the Holiday Season

“It’s the season for gifts, and most people are looking for a safe bet, especially men.” Clement says it’s the time for classics and good sellers.

Among the classics Clement chooses:
for women: Beautiful, Happy, Chanel 5, Chance, Romance, Light Blue
for men: Acqua di Gio, Eternity

Among the newer fragrances he chooses warm, rich and musky:
for woman: Euphoria, Lovely, Angel, Hypnose
for man: Code, Le Male

Clement also predicts Unforgivable will be popular among younger consumers during this holiday season.

  1. Interesting. I wonder what my friends will buy. I’ll have to do an informal poll. So, do perfumers buy perfume? :D What is everyone buying this season? I have no plans to buy anything as gifts.

  2. Kuri, you reminded me of the awful gift-giving habit in Japan. I’m glad not to be there during this time of the year! How do you see it as a foreigner?

  3. What great suggestions! I’m always pleased with Beautiful and Happy. My mom is an Estee Lauder freak so I gave her… Paradis (I think that’s the name), it was a bit bold, and a little wild, but she ended up loving it.

I also love Sunflowers because it’s light and lush.

  4. Funny you should ask! I pretend that I’m ignorant of it and thus evade this custom, but give little American-style gifts instead. It seems rather costly, and the range of gifts seems more constrained than I’m used to - mostly perishables and household kinds of things? A friend of mine finds it annoying; everyone gets piles of food and such - that she says don’t taste that good :D - and the only really happy people are the merchants.
I haven’t tried most of the listed perfumes.
