T-House by Den Nen Architecture
Den Nen Architecture based in Kyoto was founded by architects Yasushi Mizuta and Naohiro Sumi. The name of their firm “Den Nen” derives from Kansai (Kyoto, Osaka region) dialect ‘desunen’ or ‘dennen’, which means ‘am’, ‘is’ or ‘are’. The word doesn’t have much meaning but sounds very unique. Compared to the Standard Japanese, Osaka dialect is more rhythmical and strong. Does their work convey the sprit of the name?
