Under the Sails

Architecture practice SCEG designed this family house on the island of Nosy Be, Madagascar’s busiest tourist destination, drawing inspiration from its breathtaking tropical surroundings. Named after a nautical term that means ‘travelling with open sails’, the house has a large slanted straw roof with triangular openings, which indeed are reminiscent of the sails of a yacht.
