It’s an incontrovertible fact of contemporary architecture that Frank Gehry is the most famous architect working today. The Guggenheim Bilbao, Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, and Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris are among the most iconic, singular works of architecture constructed during the last half-century — a point that is duly noted and expanded upon in a retrospective of Gehry’s career that opens this week at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Simply titled “Frank Gehry,” the monographic show runs through March 20, 2016 in the museum’s Resnick Pavilion (which was designed by another titan of contemporary architecture, Renzo Piano).
