A BLVD. CALLED SUNSET: Maurice Roucel, The Doors

念願のモーリス・ルーセルとのプロジェクトが、無事完了。
余りにも自分の好みに合った香りに仕上がり、アラボオンファイヤーとして発表するのも惜しいような‥
もしモーリス・ルーセルが愛するドアーズの音楽と、私の最も好きな画家エド・ルシェのペインティングが交差する場所があるとすれば、サンセット大通り以外には考えられないでしょう。
香りの名前となった『A BLVD. CALLED SUNSET』というのは、ルシェのよく知られた同名のペインティングから拝借しました。

Finally things are coming together:

The Doors—an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965

Whisky a Go Go—the legendary nightclub on the Sunset Strip opened in 1964 where The Doors begin their run as the house band for a while.

Ed Ruscha—a renowned American artist, or perhaps one of the most iconic L.A. artists of all time. In the ’60s, the Strip was the place to hang out. Ruscha saw The Doors play at the Whiskey a Go Go and he dug the street’s flamboyant signage.

.. I’m giving a little bit of background on a new fragrance by Maurice Roucel called A BLVD. CALLED SUNSET. The moment I smelt a bunch of Maurice Roucel’s stuff I knew we had something in common.

It’s almost strange to think that Jim Morrison’s life ended in Paris 48 years ago and the cause of his tragic death is somewhat a mystery.. what we do in Paris is secret.. Paris, L.A.
